Katy Smith

Katy Smith is a PhD student at the University of South Florida, College of Marine Science in St. Petersburg, Florida.

Katy started her Ph.D program with Dr. Eugene Domack in Janurary 2014, working at USF with Amelia, Tasha, and Michelle. She graduated from Hamilton College in May 2013, where Gene was her undergraduate advisor. Her senior thesis looked at the existence, convergence and retreat of the Gerlache-Boyd paleo ice stream using multibeam, seismic, and sediment core data. She hopes to continue this work, along with expand it to study paleo ice stream environments in other areas of the world, such as Tasmania.
